How to change SVG to JPG
- Add your SVG. Drop it, pick it or paste it.
- Pick the size. 1×, 2×, 4× or an exact width in pixels.
- Choose the background color. JPG has no transparency, so empty areas are filled. White is the default.
- Set the quality and download. Higher quality means a larger file with fewer compression artifacts.
SVG to JPG conversion and the background
JPEG cannot store transparency. When the SVG has empty areas, the converter paints them with the background color you pick before saving. Choose the color of the page or slide where the image will go, so the edges blend in.
SVG to JPG quality settings
JPEG compression throws away detail the eye is less likely to notice. Around 90 is a good balance for graphics. Flat logos with sharp edges show compression halos at low quality; if you see them, raise the quality or use the SVG to PNG converter, which is lossless.
SVG to JPG converter or PNG: which to choose
| JPG | PNG | |
|---|---|---|
| Transparency | No | Yes |
| Compression | Lossy, adjustable | Lossless |
| Best for | Photos, forms and sites that only accept JPG | Logos, icons, text and sharp edges |
Pick JPG when a platform requires it or when the SVG contains photographic images. For everything else, PNG keeps edges cleaner.
