About svgdot
svgdot is a set of free SVG tools that run in your browser. You can vectorize images, convert SVG files, make favicons and clean up code without creating an account.
How the svgdot tools work
When you drop a file, the code that converts it is already in your browser tab. The file is read and processed on your own device, and the result is created there too. Nothing is uploaded, which keeps your files private and means there are no queues or daily limits.
Open-source engines behind the SVG tools
The tools are built on well-known open-source projects, all under the MIT license:
- VTracer (visioncortex) for tracing PNG and JPG images into vector paths, compiled to WebAssembly.
- SVGO for optimizing SVG files.
- jsPDF + svg2pdf.js for writing vector PDF files.
- CodeMirror for the code editor of the SVG viewer.
