SVG to PNG converter
Export an SVG as a PNG at the size you need, with transparency kept. Your browser draws the image, so the file never leaves your device.

How to convert SVG to PNG
- Add your SVG. Drop the file, click to pick it or paste it with Ctrl+V.
- Choose the size. 1×, 2× or 4× the size defined in the SVG, or type an exact width in pixels. The height follows the proportions.
- Set the background. PNG keeps transparent areas. Tick the option to fill them with a color instead.
- Download the PNG. You can switch the format to JPG or WebP in the same panel.
Convert SVG to PNG at high resolution
An SVG has no fixed resolution, so the PNG can be as large as you ask. The tool reads the size from the width and height of the SVG or, when they are missing, from its viewBox, and redraws the vector at the new size. Nothing is upscaled: a 4× PNG is drawn from the curves at four times the size, not stretched from a small bitmap.
| Use | Suggested size |
|---|---|
| Web image on standard screens | 1× the SVG size |
| Retina and high-density screens | 2× |
| Slides, documents, social posts | 2× to 4×, or the exact width in pixels |
| Width in pixels = inches × 300 |
SVG to PNG with a transparent background
PNG supports an alpha channel, so whatever is empty in the SVG stays transparent in the PNG. The preview shows transparent areas on a checkerboard. If the PNG will sit on a background that hides your artwork, fill it with a color before downloading.
When to use PNG instead of SVG
SVG is the better format for logos and icons on the web because it stays sharp at every size. PNG is the safe choice where SVG is not accepted: social networks, email signatures, office documents, marketplaces and many apps. Converting also freezes how the image looks, which avoids surprises with fonts or effects that another program renders differently.
Why an SVG can look different as PNG
The browser draws the SVG from a local file and cannot fetch external resources from it. Fonts loaded from the web and images linked by URL may be missing. Embed them inside the SVG, or convert text to outlines in your editor, and the PNG will match what you see on screen.
